Legal Declaration

In applying to become a member of the Australasian Rescue Organisation (ARO), or by renewing my membership I certify that my personal details supplied on the ARO website are true and correct. I have read the ARO Rules of Association. I agree to abide by the conditions contained in that document along with any new or altered policies or conditions, which may from time-to-time be determined by the Executive Committee of ARO.

I acknowledge that the ARO membership ends on 30 June each year, and that 100% of the membership fee is payable if I join between 1 July and 30 April. If I join between 1 May and 30 June, my fee will be applied to the following year, with the balance of the current membership year being included at no additional charge.

    • Transaction history on this website (including orders, membership sign up, membership renewal etc).The types of sensitive information we collect include records of communication between us, which may include from time to time, information you provide us. This includes, but is not limited to, the following types of information:
    • personal credit card data; and
    • any idiosyncratic or personal information we obtain from you.

    We generally collect the information we need to deliver and improve the services we provide. This includes processing membership and sponsorship fees, providing receipts, maintaining accurate details of our membership history, and to send you information.We might also use your information for the following purposes:
    • for the immediate reason for which you have provided it to us (for example, to enable us to process your request, payment, membership etc);
    • to maintain contact with you and provide you with information regarding the organisation or your membership;
    • any other purpose directly related to the work of ARO and for which you have provided consent (where it is reasonably required by law).
    We do not rent, sell, or provide your information to other organisations or bodies unless you have authorised its release (e.g., Credit card payments).
  4. Securing your information
    We take reasonable steps to ensure the security of personal and sensitive information we hold and to protect it against loss, misuse or unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure.
    • Our IT systems are protected and comply with applicable security standards.
    • Only authorised personnel are permitted to access these details.
    It is our policy to destroy personal information once there is no longer a legal or business need for us to retain it.
